About

Welcome to Kukucka Photography!

I’m so excited to introduce my new website and blog! Though blogging isn’t foreign to me, I haven’t regularly updated my old blog, and I intend to change that with this new blog. I decided to step it up a notch for this 2010 season, and that includes regular updates from my latest weddings, engagement sessions, family photo shoots, children’s portraits, and some of my favorite fine arts images that I haven’t shared with anyone. I will feature a favorite photo of the week every Friday, as well as a question of the week every Monday, from my oh so cool game of questions, Play Say What.

As you can see from my website, my specialty is wedding photography. I also do high school portraits, children, families, fur angels, and other events. I pride myself on being a photographer of the heart. Having grown up with the absolute intrigue of my mother’s snapshots of (mostly) family gatherings, I understood at a very young age that photography is a sacred preservation of time. Proof that we were there – in that moment, with those people, wearing those clothes, at that place – before it all changed just a split second later. Proof. Of life. Of love. Of the eternally changing moment.

My game, Play Say What was a divine inspiration that came to me a few years back. Truthfully, I found that because I am somewhat shy by nature, I was usually so uncomfortable in social settings that the only way I could feel relaxed and present was to ask insightful questions. It never failed to change the energy of a gathering, and deepen the conversations. And so what began as a few questions scrawled on paper and passed around in a hat has since morphed into a game of over 100 questions that I sell at a variety of book stores, arts festivals, and online. Please visit the Play Say What website to find out more!

Thank you for your interest in Kukucka Photography, and please visit often. I look forward to a wonderful new year with all of you!
